Pack A Backpack Day – August 5 & 6

Over the course of 2 days in August, Teen Central will open its building and provide free school supplies and hygiene products for students of all ages to come and gather for their back-to-school shopping lists. While we may not be able to cover every supply need that is out there, our goal is to be able to give families a head start to their school shopping needs. Teen Central will gather/purchase school supplies that are common across all grades along with basic hygiene supplies and place them out (assembly-line style) in our main gathering room. We will then invite students and parents to bring their own backpack or bag and come to our building during the two different times listed above to pack their bags with the free items being provided. There will be a limit to the number of supplies students can take as to ensure that everyone gets an opportunity to choose from the variety of items being provided. Teen Central staff, board members, and volunteers will be there to help oversee the process and interact with the community while they are in our building. Along with the school supplies and hygiene items, we will also have bookmarks with our Teen Central information and start date for the school year. Extra goodies like candy, snow cones, and additional information about Teen Central will also be available for the community to take as they take advantage of this free resource/event.

  2. By donations to this specific event. Checks or cash can be sent to us here at Teen Central (Teen Central, 15 S. Wolf Street, Manheim, PA 17545) to help our organization cover the cost of the remaining items that need purchased to complete our list. Checks can be made payable to “Teen Central” with “Pack-A-Backpack Day” on the memo line.  Thank you for considering supporting this new school supply initiative!
  3. Purchasing supplies on your own and dropping them off at Teen Central. Like to shop? *Please Note: The last date to purchase and send supplies will be Thursday, August 1st.  Any leftover supplies from this year’s item collection will be saved and stored to either give out with our annual Christmas Stocking giveaway, or saved for next year’s Pack-A-Backpack event.
